Olivia Arguilez
Olivia is a force to be reckoned with both on the field and in her community. As a captain of the San Diego Christian College women’s soccer team, her consistent, tenacious play garnered her the team’s 2018-19 Defensive MVP title. On-campus, Olivia has served as a resident advisor, the GSAC Student Athletic Advisory Committee representative, the Fellowship of Student-Athletes Huddle Team Member, and a Student Life Team Member. Her service to the community has included over 12 years of volunteer work with the Girls Empowerment Conference, during which she was recognized for her leadership skills by Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez - Fletcher and named Vice-Chair for “Empower Her San Diego” Additionally, Olivia volunteers for Students with Disabilities, working with, and tutoring 15 to 20-year-old individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
Olivia’s future ambitions include applying her Marketing degree toward building, operating, and owning a wedding venue in San Diego County. She plans on applying the same faith-based work-ethic and commitment to the community she developed as a student-athlete toward creating customer service, environmentally aware, locally supported small businesses.
Last season, Olivia was the recipient of the 2020 GSAC Dr. Leroy Walker Champions of Character Award. This award was named in honor of former NAIA President and President Emeritus of the United States Olympic Committee, Dr. LeRoy Walker. The award recognizes a junior or senior student-athlete who displays the NAIA Champions of Character's five core values, demonstrates outstanding academic achievement, campus and community leadership, athletic achievement and has a strong future ambition.
