CYPRESS, Calif. -- The SDC women tennis team claimed both the singles and the doubles titles and the men's tennis team won the singles title as the Hawks played in the ITA NAIA Regional Championships.
'It's been a long 3 days playing intense tennis matches and some even played 4 matches a day," Head Coach Priscilla Jensen said. "Through some injuries, they kept focused and mentally strong to claim 3 out of 4 possible titles to get a spot in the ITA Oracle Cup National Championship. The coaching staff is so pleased with their performance on court. We'll work hard in the next few weeks to represent SDC Hawks family in Georgia."
Freshman Sarah Schaerer from Switzerland claimed the NAIA West Regional title beating Westmont's Peyton Trebisley with 6-3, 6-3.
German duo freshman Sarah Urbanek and sophomore Nadine Geschke claimed their championship title beating Arizona Christian's Mikayla Morgan and Tia Okano with 6-4, 6-4.
