Calderson grew up in Cadiz, Spain playing for the 2nd Div. R.C. Portuense Academy program. At 17, Calderson was promoted the first team and played with the first team for two years until he was loaned to a 3rd division team, U.D. Rotenia. While playing there, they gained promotion to the Spanish 2nd division. 

Calderson continued his playing in college at San Diego Christian College (then Christian Heritage College) where he received NAIA All-American honors and graduated with a degree in kinesiology.

After his college career, Calderson played professionally in the USL for the San Diego Flash, Charlotte Eagles, and Cascade Surge. In addition, he competed in the MISL with the San Diego Sockers and Monterey Fury. During the American offseason, Calderson played for teams in Thailand, South Africa and Lebanon. Calderson's career also included a brief stint with the Los Angeles Galaxy. Altogether, Calderson's professional career spanned 12 years.

As a coach, Calderson has a USSF "A" License and has coached the San Diego Crusaders, Del Mar Sharks, and San Diego Nomads. He has also coached the USL1 Cleveland City Stars Reserves team, as well as San Diego Christian College and Ohio Christian University. Currently, Calderson is a coach for San Diego Soccer Club and Santa Fe Christian High School. This past season, Calderson led the Santa Fe Christian High School Boys to a CIF Championship.
